An ingrown toenail can be simply uncomfortable to something which is extremely painful and infected. Sometimes, the only way to permanently resolve this, is via nail surgery.

 

This procedure involves a local anaesthetic to numb the toe. Depending on the circumstance, the offending part of the nail (either one/both sides or the whole nail) will be removed and a strong chemical will be applied to prevent the nail from coming back. It is fairly a straight forward and a simple procedure.
